The Sounds are a Swedish band with a Blondie swagger and a Post-Punk/Dance-Rock sound. "Painted by Numbers" is from their second album 'Dying to Say This to You' from 2006. It definitely recreates an 80's synth-pop scene, but add the guitar hooks and also the lively vocals from Maja Ivarsson, and you have a modern classic.
