Los Angeles band Electric Guest released their debut album 'Mondo' in 2012. There are moments of 70's soul throughout, although, in an indie band kind of way. But the surprise radio favourite (Bitter FM included) is the nine minute "Trouble Man" which is not a cover of Marvin Gaye's "Troubleman" - in fact, not even an inspiration, as they have said. It would be believable that some of their other songs have a Marvin Gaye influence, though. "Trouble Man" is a two part epic, which you may hear as two songs in one. If that's how you hear it, then you are kind of right. Their friend and producer, Danger Mouse, realised the similarities between two of the songs and suggested they combine them into one. Fantastic result.
