Someone on youtube commented about the Verlaines being the best band you have never heard of.... which is appropriate, I suppose, for everyone other than a New Zealand Indie rock follower... or a fan of the Flying Nun label. However, for us Verlaines fans, this is a classic Verlaines track. I remember seeing them live years ago and a friend mentioned this song, in the hope they would play it, and I misheard them and argued that there was no fucking way they would play a slow sad love song. Well done... 1 to the Verlaines and 0 to me.
