Ana Tijoux is a French/Chilean hip hop artist that has only come to my attention with the release of her second solo album "1977" recently. The album is named after her year of birth.. which was in France while her parents were in exile during the dictatorship of Pinochet. She now divides her time between France and Chile and is a bit of a star in both countries and latin America in general. The title track and single "1977" has her rapping in quick bursts with a fantastic background of beats and strings.... and even horns. This song has been an obsession of mine lately and hopefully soon I can move on to the rest of the album.
