Todays lesson is MATARIKI..... you may sharpen your pencils now.
Yesterday was officially the start to Matariki (The Maori New Year) so todays blog is a celebration of that.
Matariki is celebrated when the seven stars (The Pleiades, commonly known as the seven sisters) first appear in the sky pre-dawn, along with the next new moon in the month of June. It is a time to reflect on the dead and celebrate new life.
