Northern Ireland band The Undertones released "Teenage Kicks" in 1978 and it is now a classic song that kind of defined that era. They were more on the power-pop side of the punk genre... particularly because they had a great singer with a unique voice and quaver.... in Feargal Sharkey. John Peel was a huge fan from the day he received a demo tape of "Teenage Kicks" and had stated regularly that it was his all-time favourite song. It still sounds fresh now and certainly deserved the acclaim it has received until this day.
